Water Quality:
Water quality is a top concern for us, which is why we conduct thorough monthly checks carried out, by South East Water Scientific Services during April to October, to ensure that it meets and exceeds the stringent standards set by British Triathlon Water Quality limits.
Detailed levels will be posted outside the Dinton Activity Centre reception and our Water Quality report will be posted online regularly. Please read our latest report:
(127.02 KB)
Results will be expected to meet the ITU Water Quality Tolerance Limits:
- pH between 6 and 9
- E. coli not more than 200 per 100ml
- Enterococcus 35 per 100ml
These regular assessments guarantee that you can enjoy our water-based activities with complete peace of mind, knowing that your safety is our top priority.
Course Map:
We try to make life as easy as possible, the buoys used on the course are 1m wide red cubes but a good pair of goggles really helps.
Pool Swimming vs Open Water Swimming
Pools are generally warmer and less wavy than open water. You should expect to be about 10% -20% slower than in the pool, partially due to the waves but also with route finding. This does mean for the same amount of time in the water you will use up more energy than in a pool session. It is very sensible to make sure you have eaten and are hydrated before starting your swim. Bringing a sugary snack for immediately afterwards can also help. Gloves, swim socks and neoprene beanies under the swim hat can help keep your extremities warm and reduce the initial aaaaahhhhhh moment as you enter the water.
Booking:
Whether you seek a refreshing workout, a serene retreat, or simply a moment of pure bliss in nature, we look forward to welcoming you.
