About Buckhurst Meadows

Buckhurst Meadows is the informal recreational area associated with the Montague Park housing development on the southeastern edge of Wokingham. The 12.5-hectare site, which was previously comprised of agricultural fields, is now made up of a mosaic of habitats, including woodland, rough grassland, wildflower meadow, hedgerows, ponds, an orchard, and a natural play area.

The site consists of a network of surfaced and non-surfaced footpaths, with the main route being a 2.3km circular route.

Parking Facilities

Buckhurst Meadows has a surfaced car park with 10 spaces, which is free of charge to visitors.

Accessibility

The majority of footpaths on the site are rough hard-surfaced, with some stabilised non-surfaced paths. The non-surfaced paths may become muddy in wetter months. There are no steep inclines on the site. Therefore, most of the site is accessible to wheelchair users who have sturdy chairs.
